Trojan Flashback Football Founder, Rod Sherman, worked w/ Pete Carroll and Mark Jackson to launch the 2004 program. Sherman comments on the staffing plans for 2007:
Coach Carroll and his staff over-delivered last summer!! There is no other way to state it accurately. They were fantastic with every facet of the inaugural year program and every participant - Flashback Player, Flashback Coach, Flashback Owner, and Trojan Greats - benefitted from their personal commitment.
Secondly, former Trojan Bill Cunerty provided a high-quality classroom environment to further enhance the learning component of Trojan Flashback Football. As a former player at USC and national championship coach at Saddleback College, Bill provided insights into the game of football, into Pete Carroll's approach to football, and insights into some the humorous experiences of his own career.
In Trojan Flashback Football 2006, Bill will be assembling a talented group of former Trojan players that have gone on to great successes in the coaching profession. . . many of them names that you know.
Bill will be providing periodic online updates regarding this new component of Trojan Flashback Football staffing.
You've read the names of Trojan Greats that joined Bill and me and were an integral part of the success of Trojan Flashback Football Football: Papadakis, Lott, Martin, Fertig, Jackson, Jensen, Vella, Davis, White, McDonald, Cunningham, McKeever, and Mix.
These guys found Trojan Flashback Football to be a refreshingly new window of opportunity for their participation in and support of USC Football. They - along with some more of their teammates - look forward to carrying the torch that Pete Carroll and his staff lit in 2004.
With the fifth season of Trojan Flashback Football approaching, we are finalizing our lineup of Trojan Greats. Some of the early confirmations are Anthony Davis, John Vella, Rod Martin, John Jackson, Duane Bickett, Brandon Hancock, Terrell Ray, Charles White, Sonny Byrd and Rod Sherman – more being confirmed this coming month!
