HISTORY

Overview:
Flashback Camps™ has taken several years to develop a proprietary curriculum that is safe, challenging, and can be expanded to include a broader cross-section of your key fan base.

Though fantasy camps have been staged in baseball for years, the words “fantasy camp” and “football” have been mutually exclusive for decades. They have been followed closely by the humorously insightful comment: “Most of our alums, were they to get down in a three-point stance, couldn’t get back up!”

Flashback: 40 years ago Rod Sherman stood on the sideline and suggested to Coach John McKay:“84 Z Delay.” Coach McKay said “yes” and sent Sherman into the game. Sherman caught a fourth down pass from Quarter Back Craig Fertig for a score with 1:33 remaining in the game to upset the previously unbeaten Norte Dame Fighting Irish.  A win would have secured a National Championship for the Irish, making the Sherman score arguably the greatest play in Trojan History.

Flashback: In 2003, Sherman met with Coach Pete Carroll and suggested a novel camp idea: Trojan Flashback Football. Coach Carroll said “yes” and in June, 2004 “A Fantasy Camp for Grown-Up Kids” was executed with equal success reminiscent of 84 Z Delay.

Launched at Heritage Hall and the L.A. Coliseum, the USC coaching staff combined with Trojan Greats to provide an action-packed, fun-filled football experience! We're now planning our third season of Trojan Flashback Football and the first for Bruin Flashback Football and four other select universities.
